Britt is the head of the laboratory where she studies the response of plants to environmental changes, including how they cope with drought. She is also interested in the study of plant-pathogen interactions, particularly those related to the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici, which causes tomato wilt disease.
Britt was awarded her Ph.D. at Harvard University in 2014 for her research on the evolution of RNA interference in plants. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Biomedical Research at Princeton.
